Attending the ANZSN 2020 ASM with Children
We understand conference attendance is an important part of your professional career and the 55th Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology local organising committee supports the needs of working and professional parents. Parents with small children and infants are welcome to bring them along to the ASM as required to facilitate the attendance of our members from all stages in life.
Parents Room at the Venue
An unstaffed parenting room will be available at the conference venue for parents with children to utilise while onsite at the ASM from Monday 31st August to Wednesday 2nd September 0700-1800. This room will be set up with basic furniture, TV and refreshments and is designed for parents attending the ASM with a child to use as a quiet place away from the busier meeting areas. Please note, while children of delegates are welcome at the ASM during sessions and catering breaks it is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to supervise and ensure other delegates participation at the ASM is not unduly disrupted.
Gala Dinner (Tuesday)
The Gala Dinner will be held on the evening of Tuesday 1st September at Maq 2 on the waterfront. Delegates are more than welcome to bring children along with them. Please be aware it is a formal dinner with speeches and entertainment and may be a little loud. Infants in prams (no seat or meal required) may attend at no cost. Children/teenagers up to 18 years (seat and meal required) $55 per head. Please contact the secretariat to book.
ANZSN has approved limited funds to subsidise parents requiring nannys or babysitting in Hobart. For children 0-5 years ASM delegates may receive $100 per day, per child, for the main three days of the ASM (Monday 31st August, Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd September). This funding is limited so please confirm early by registering for the ASM and contacting the secretariat to arrange subsidy payment.
