Luke Macauley is a provisional health psychologist at the University of Adelaide who was diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure in 2017 at the age of 23. He subsequently received a live kidney transplant from his father. In 2018 he worked with Kidney Health Australia, contributing to the research and design of Kidney Health Australia’s Young Adult Program for adolescents and young adults with kidney disease as a research assistant and peer mentor. He has also contributed to the Central and Northern Adelaide Renal and Transplantation Service Clinical Research Group as a research assistant and consumer advocate.
